You are in: Mount Druitt
To PlacesOriginally inhabited by the Dharug Aboriginal people, this area in Sydney's west was first settled in the early 1800s as a farming community. As the railway line extended through the area in 1881 residential development was to become more popular. Mount Druitt takes its name from Major George Druitt, one of the first people to be granted land in the area in the early 1800s.
