Located just north of the Victoria border at the junction of the Edward River and Billabong Creek, Moulamein takes its name from a local Aboriginal word meaning 'meeting of waters'. Reportedly settled as early as the 1830s, Moulamein was once a thriving river port and is the oldest town in the Riverina region.
