Located in the foothills of the mountainous ranges east of Tamworth, Moonbi would be settled following the extension of the Great North Road over the formidable Moonbi Ranges in the 1840s. Despite Moonbi’s first settlers relying on traditional farming industries such as a sheep and cattle, Moonbi is today best known for its poultry farms which are amongst the most successful in New South Wales.
