Located on the Murrumbidgee River in the south western plains of New South Wales, the town of Gogeldrie was originally the land of the Wiradjuri Aboriginal people. The Gogeldrie weir on the Murrumbidgee was constructed in 1959 and supplies the surrounding irrigation farming districts with a plentiful supply of water.
