Located in Sydney's north shore, Denistone was originally part of the large Brush Farm Estate that would eventually comprise the suburb of Denistone and neighbouring Eastwood. Denistone takes its name from the house of Dr Thomas Forster and his wife Elizabeth who were given Brush Farm Estate by Elizabeth's father Gregory Blaxland in the 1820s.
