The Toona Australis, or Red Cedar, is one of only a few native deciduous trees. It is characterised by its long trunk and attractive oval foliage and is commonly found along the New South Wales coastal ranges and warmer northern rainforests. It quickly became over-harvested as it was highly-prized for its timber, and is now protected within national parks.
