2003/145/2 Poster, 'Celebrating Indigenous Sport', paper, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia, 2001
This poster used to promote the Prime Minister's XI V ATSIC Chairman's XI cricket match in April 2001 highlights Indigenous people's contribution to cricket. Cricket is one of Australia's national and favourite sports, the first cricket team from Australia to tour overseas to England in 1865 was an all Indigenous team. The Prime Minister John Howard is a keen cricket fan and the match was a way for politicans and the Indigenous community to gather socially on a non political level.
